The COVID-19 Pandemic shone a spotlight on the digital disparity facing many of our nation’s children. Computers 2 Kids (C2K/C2SDK) is a national leader in bridging the digital divide, ensuring all children and their families have equal access to affordable technology and the crucial educational, occupational, and financial resources that technology can provide to improve their educational options and their futures.
Our Technology Assistance Program (TAP) recycles and refurbishes used computers and delivers them nationwide to families in need. Each family served receives a system and free technical support, ensuring that the entire family can access job and school-related opportunities for the next ten years. C2K is a national device provider through the Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) Program and locally through the SD Access 4 All Program. And in support of the Executive Order on Strengthening the Child Welfare System for America’s Children, C2K is delivering systems to foster children throughout California.
To help facilitate access for all, C2K will be launching our TAP App. This first-of-its-kind app will allow anyone with a phone to request a computer, affordable internet, and technical support. Beyond our core mission of helping kids and their families, we also address the environmental problem that discarded computers create upon disposal. C2K is committed to educating corporations and individuals on a green alternative for their technology while providing needed technology and resources that have been unavailable to many low-income families.
